What is AG STRUKTUR?

AG STRUKTUR is a script development program created by the internationally awarded writer and director Hanna Slak.

Experienced filmmakers join a moderated Working Group (AG).

The aim of the group is for the Participants to advance their material towards a first draft of the script within 3 Months.

It is also possibble to set a 12 page treatment as the writing goal.

The Moderator offers an advanced step-by-step guide through structuring as well as individual feedback on structure, story and character development, and individual "theme therapy".

6 SESSIONS

The sessions take place online from 10am to 5pm.

Each of the 6 Sessions is 6h long, with a 1h Lunch Break and two 10min Coffee Breaks.

Each of the 6 Sessions consists of 3 Parts:
   Structuring Tools
   Individual Consultation
   Creative Dialogue

STRUCTURING TOOLS

The work with structuring consists of 6 step-by-step introduction sessions to structural tools based on the teaching of Frank Daniel and completed by over 20 years of personal experience in writing and script consultancy.

The aim is to master structuring as a tool applicable to any kind of story material and any kind of style.

This is expanded by introducing strategies how to switch between the Analytical Mind (structural planing) and the Intuitive Mind (intuitive writing) in order to achieve better access to inspiration and the creative flow when writing.

INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATION

During each Session, each project is given Individual Feedback on current development.

The emphasis of Individual Feedback is on structuring in relation to thematic intentions as defined - and re-defined in the process - by the Participant.

In order to allow for as much creative freedom and individuality as possible and to encourage diverse voices and daring narrative strategies, the Feedback is free of criticism or judgement of the story material and/or the style of the story itself (except for consistency of style, which is a structural issue).

If the Participant requests so, Feedback on the quality of the story material and on the originality of the style with suggestions towards possible augmentation will be added to the individual consultation.

CREATIVE DIALOGUE

Creative Dialogue is a technique developed through years of work with film students and professionals. Creative Dialogue was developed with the aim to enable a supportive creative environment free of judgment, biases, and criticism.

Creative Dialogue enables the participants to freely test ideas and brainstorm for new paths through the story.

Specific rules for Creative Dialogue will be introduced. Those rules are put in place to create a safe creative environment of sharing, respect, and fun.

BETWEEN THE SESSIONS

There are 2-week writing periods between each session, each writing period has a clearly defined writing goal, a tool to help you develop the material and move further with the story.

This time is devoted to working on your own project, but you are also welcome to reach out to the Moderator or/and fellow Participants for creative dialogue.
